The City of Sequim Mourns the Passing of City Council Member John Miller

Sequim City Manager Charlie Bush has been notified by a family member of the passing of City Council member John Miller. Miller died of cardiac arrest at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton on the evening of Wednesday, November 29.

“We are shocked and saddened to hear the news of John’s passing,” said Sequim Mayor Dennis Smith. “John was well-known and active in the community and a caring member of the City Council.”

“John will be missed by the community, the City Council members, and City staff,” said City Manager Charlie Bush. “We will miss his sense of humor and perspective on community issues. Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones.”

Miller began his service on the Sequim City Council on January 1, 2016. He served on the City of Sequim Finance Committee, The Clallam Transit System Board of Directors, and the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.

A memorial kiosk has been set up on the Civic Center Plaza, 152 West Cedar Street. The community is welcome to leave cards and condolences that will be given to the family.
