City Council Appoints William Armacost to Fill Vacant City Council Position

The Sequim City Council voted to appoint William Armacost to fill the vacant City Council position at the July 23, 2018 City Council Meeting. The position became open when Councilor Pamela Leonard-Ray relocated for family reasons. The term for the position will expire on December 31, 2019. The decision was made after interviewing the four candidates, Armacost, Tom Ferrell, Ron Fairclough, and Richard Fleck, that had applied for the position. Armacost was sworn into office by City Clerk Karen Kuznek-Reese at the meeting.

Armacost has lived in Sequim for 34 years and is the owner of Changes Salon & Spa.

“With the longevity of my time in Sequim, as well as the vast diversity I encounter when working with the public, it gives me great insight into our little town,” Armacost wrote in his application for the position. “People need to be heard and engaged in the future of our community, and I would like to help nurture that. Sequim has been very good to me and my family, now it is time for me to give back.”
