PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Sequim will improve Carrie Blake Park by adding approximately 400 linear feet of a permeable asphalt pavement driveway section from the south end of the park to the parking lot located north of the existing baseball fields (Guy Cole Convention Center). This work shall include excavation, grading, cement concrete installation of curb and gutter, sidewalk, asphalt paving, signing, rain garden installation and erosion control work. Also included in this contract is the modification of the existing entrance to become a pedestrian/bike pathway from Blake Avenue to the same parking lot located at the Guy Cole Convention Center. This section of entrance drive will be closed to vehicular traffic. This work may include excavation, amending soils, grading and restoration. A new Pickleball facility will be constructed immediately east of the existing Skate Park. The facility will have eight (8) regulation hard courts and will be 136' x 144' in size (0.45 ac). A new pedestrian path 8' in width, will be constructed from the Southwest park entrance off of Blake Avenue eastward, skirting the west edge of the Skate Park, then along the north edge of the Skate Park and Pickleball Courts to the Restroom building. This pathway will be ADA accessible. This work will include excavation, grading, compaction, erosion and sediment controls, concrete work, painting, and fencing. The project will also install approximately 690 LF of water main with associated fittings and valves from the existing south park entrance along the proposed North-South Access Road to northwest of the Guy Cole Convention Center.
