Commission Vacancies

The City of Sequim is currently seeking applicants to serve the remainder of four-year terms on the City’s Arts Commission. There is a vacancy for a resident of the City of Sequim and for a resident of the Sequim School District. This voluntary commission advises the City on matters related to art and culture. 

Arts Commission members are appointed upon the basis of demonstrated interest in, and knowledge and support of, the arts. The Arts Commission serves as an advisory body to the City in connection with cultural and artistic endeavors and projects in the City.

Please submit applications to Karen Kuznek-Reese, City Clerk, at Sequim City Hall. These positions are open until filled.

About the Commission
Creation of Commission
The Sequim City Council has created a City Arts Advisory Commission to advise the City Council on matters related to art and culture. Commission members serve four-year terms on this voluntary 5 - 7 member commission. There is currently one vacancy for a member who resides in the Sequim city limits. To apply, please complete the application and submit it to Karen Kuznek-Reese, City Clerk at .

Duties and Authority
The Commission responsibilities are to provide recommendations to the staff and City Council in connection with cultural and artistic endeavors and projects in which the City becomes involved. A full list of the authority and duties is available in Ordinance No. 2014-008.

Resolution No. R2014-10 was adopted by the City Council which provides a Public Art Policy to assist the Arts Commission in its duties.
