The City Arts Advisory Commission (CAAC) is seeking entries of art, in any medium, for the next exhibit to be on digital display beginning July 3, 2020.
The theme for this exhibit is “Fluidity.” Rainer Rilke, the poet says “May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back.”
Without fluidity there would be no paint to push, no molten metals, and no bright colored dyes; without these our art would be monochrome and static.
The theme of this show celebrates all thing flowing smoothing so while a landscape painting portraying a river or a glass of wine being poured would fit the theme, so too might a flowing cloth sculpture. There is another definition of fluidity as something that is able to change repeatedly and unexpectedly. Both a sculpture that changes as you move around it, or one in which liquid surprisingly changes direction would also stay within the theme. Let your ideas flow…
Fluidity is adaptable and mutable as all artists have needed to be at this current moment. We thank you in advance for your flexibility and patience with the temporary digital format.
Deadline for submissions is Monday, June 8, 2020 at 4pm. Only digital applications will be considered. To enter, complete the form at this link which allows you to download up to three images (preferably 300 dpi) per entry: https://form.jotform.com/92465220039150
All entries will be juried by the CAAC on June 11, 2020 and artists will be notified of their status by June 15, 2020.
This new exhibit will open on Friday, July 3, 2020 as a digital slideshow.
