CallS For Artists

1.   The City Arts Advisory Commission is seeking volunteers (individuals or groups) from the art and technology sectors to help create and/or display temporary installations using light as the medium.

Think BIG and small (projection art, 3D sculptures, glowing performance art, and augmented reality).  The temporary installations will be part of the premiere Sunshine Festival in Sequim scheduled for March 6 & 7, 2020.  Installations will take place March 3 through 5, 2020.  Existing and new installations and projects will be considered.

For those interested in volunteering for this project, please email your artist/group biography to Arts Coordinator, Cyndi Hueth, at no later than October 25, 2019

2.  "Illuminations" ~ our first exhibit for 2020.

Theme description:  Without illumination, there is no color and little form; therefore, the artists’ first teacher is always light.  This theme is a celebration of how light is portrayed in painting, used as a shadow element dancing over sculptures, and projected through colored glass or from neon or LED works.  As long as the artwork somehow “highlights” light, then it fits the theme.

To enter, please click on this link to complete the application and download photos of your artwork:  Illuminations Application

The deadline for digital, on-line entries is 4pm on December 9, 2019.

The exhibit will open on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm, and will be on display until March 27, 2020.
