Fir Sequim sign

Asphalt paving for West Fir Street, deemed an essential public facility that may be needed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, is slated to begin March 31, 2020.  The work will take place Tuesday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is weather dependent.

At times, a detour route will be in place directing traffic around the Sequim Avenue and 5th Avenue intersections with Fir Street while crews complete intersection paving. These intersections will not be closed at the same time. Resident access will be provided however drivers are encouraged to heed to flaggers, cones, and construction signage, and to be cognizant of large construction equipment and trucks and their backup alarms. Emergency vehicle access will be provided at all times and emergency vehicles will be allowed to drive through the work zone during an emergency. Access to the Boys and Girls Club and the School District Kitchen will be provided.

All construction activity will meet the social distancing and appropriate health and worker protection measures required by Washington State Governor Jay Inslee.

The work will be performed by Interwest Construction and Lakeside Industries.
