[ARCHIVED] Sequim COVID-19 Vaccination Program to Begin

Vaccination Map

Now that COVID-19 vaccines have arrived in Sequim and front-line healthcare workers and first responders (Phase 1A) have been vaccinated, Jamestown Family Health Clinic is ready to publicize the planned roll-out of Phase 1B at the rate of 1,000 doses per week, to the public. This event is for people who live in the Sequim area. Similar events will be held in Port Angeles, so there is no reason to travel.

This is a drive-through process. It will be carefully monitored by Sequim Police, with communications by the Fire District, on-the-ground logistics handled by City of Sequim Public Works staff and trained Community Emergency Response volunteers, with check-in and vaccinations administered by Jamestown Family Health employees. Please stay in your vehicle for your vaccination.

Vaccinations are available for those age 70 and over, plus their domestic partner (regardless of age) who must be in the vehicle with them. If you have questions or concerns about whether you should receive this vaccine, please check with your primary care provider prior to attending the drive-through event.

Dates: Thursday January 14, Saturday January 16, Tuesday January 19, Thursday, January 21, Saturday, January 23.

Times: 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. each day

How to Prepare: Identification Card. Please wear a short sleeve shirt so that when you remove your outerwear, your upper arm is easily accessible.

Check-in Location: Enter Blake Avenue from Washington Street, in order to enter the parking lot of Trinity United Methodist Church for check-in. There will be six vehicle lanes available for check-in. Please turn off your vehicle while you are waiting.

Procedure: You will be asked to fill out consent paperwork for those being vaccinated. Jamestown staff will generate a ticket for your vaccination. This will also include a date for you to return in four weeks to the same location for your second dose.

Vaccination location: Traffic signals and barriers will direct vehicles to the 2-lane vaccination tent, located adjacent to the James Center Bandshell in Carrie Blake Park.

Post-Vaccination: Once you have received your vaccination, you will be directed to a parking area to wait for 15 minutes post-vaccination, with personnel available to answer questions or address health concerns.

Exit: You will be directed to exit via N. Rhodefer Road.

With close to 60 people on staff to organize, monitor and carry out this process, it is imperative that those desiring a vaccination follow all instructions and driving directions, and be prepared to wait their turn, as staff will be moving people through the line as fast as possible while maintaining all of the necessary safety precautions and capturing all of the CDC-required information for each patient. Restrooms will be open at Trinity United Methodist Church, and at the Band Shell in Carrie Blake Park.

The plan is the culmination of many months of work by clinic staff, public health officials, the City of Sequim, as well as local police, fire department, emergency management officials, and volunteers from local Community Emergency Response Teams and Trinity United Methodist Church. We are fortunate to have proactive, cooperative partners who have helped us to be ahead of the curve in battling this pandemic.
