[ARCHIVED] Construction to Begin on South Sequim Avenue

Work to overlay the street, replace sidewalk ramps to come into ADA Compliance, and replace the water main on South Sequim Avenue is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 20, 2012. The work will take place Monday through Friday predominantly at night between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Some of the sidewalk ramp work will occur during the day Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The project has been scheduled to minimize the impact on travelers. It is expected that the project will be finished by mid-September. The work will be performed by C & J Construction.

The overlay and sidewalk ramp replacement will occur on South Sequim Avenue from Washington Street to Hammond Street. The replacement of the water main will occur along South Sequim Avenue from Bell Street through Washington Street. Because this street will be in construction during the night hours, traffic delays will be minimal. There will be occasional nighttime road closures along Sequim Avenue and at the Sequim/Washington intersection and detour routes will be set up. Steel plates may temporarily cover excavated areas.
