The City of Sequim will rehabilitate selected signalized intersections along Washington Street and 5th Avenue beginning on Monday, March 6th.  The work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The project is expected to take three to four weeks to complete and is weather dependent.

Work will be performed at the following locations:

West Washington Street and Sequim Avenue

West Washington Street and 3rd Avenue

West Washington Street and 5 Avenue

West Washington Street and 7th Avenue

North 5th Avenue and West Fir St

North 5th Avenue and West Hendrickson Rd

This project includes the replacement of existing traffic signal controllers, video detection, installation of new radios at the above-mentioned intersections and other associated work. The project is expected to provide more efficient traffic flow for both vehicles and pedestrians and reduce overall wait times.

Residents can expect delays, localized closures, and detours during work hours. Resident access will be provided, however, residents are encouraged to heed flaggers, cones, and construction signage, and to be cognizant of large construction equipment and trucks and their backup alarms.

The project is being funded by Real Estate Excise Tax (REET) and Impact Fees.  The work will be performed by Western Systems and G&G Inc.
