City of Sequim to Resume North 7th Avenue Water Main Replacement

North 7th Ave Rehabilitation Project

The City of Sequim will resume rehabilitation of selected sections of North 7th Avenue beginning on Monday, May 1st.  The work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The project is expected to be completed by mid-June and is weather dependent.

Work will be performed at the following locations:

  • North 7th Avenue from West Spruce Street to West Fir Street
  • North Spalder Loop
  • South Spalder Loop

Residents can expect delays, localized closures, and detours during work hours. Resident access will be provided, however, residents are encouraged to heed flaggers, cones, and construction signage, and to be cognizant of large construction equipment and trucks and their backup alarms.

This project includes the installation of new 8-inch diameter water main, valves, hydrants, 4-inch and 3-inch diameter water supply piping, concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, HMA pavement, pavement markings and other associated work. The project is being funded by water restricted funds.  The work will be performed by Jamestown Excavating, Lakeside Industries, Smugglers Cove Flagging, and Northwest Traffic.

The City began the water main replacement project on 7th Avenue in October 2022.  The paving portion of the project was delayed due to weather.  The asphalt plant usually closes between December and March because weather conditions do not allow paving during that time period.

Please visit https://www.sequimwa.gov/1019/Current-Public-works-Projects for the complete paving schedule.  For more information, please contact Sequim’s Department of Public Works at (360) 683-5062.
