Members of the Sequim High School Freshman class are scheduled to tour the City of Sequim Water Reclamation Facility on Wednesday, October 24 and Thursday, October 25, 2012. The tours will take place at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. on the 24th and at 10:30 p.m. on the 25th.
The tours are part of an educational program between the City of Sequim and the Sequim School District. With curriculum developed with the help of the City’s Waste Reclamation Facility Lead Al Chrisman, the high school is also teaching classes on “How Nature Cleans Water, and How We Copy That Process” to the freshman class. The class explains how different scientific techniques are used in separating pollutants from the water.
“This is a process that happens naturally, said Chrisman “but what we do at the Water Reclamation Facility is speed up that process.”
