[ARCHIVED] Sequim Centennial 4th of July Weekend Celebration Schedule of Events


The Sequim Centennial Committee has a full slate of family friendly events planned for the upcoming Independence Day holiday. Following is a schedule of events for the 4th of July Old Fashioned Town Picnic and the 5th of July Street Dance of the Century.

July 4 – Old Fashioned Town Picnic
Water Reuse Site and James Center for the Performing Arts

On Stage at the James Center for the Performing Arts:
10:30 a.m. – Opening Ceremonies
11:00 a.m. – Dukes of Dabob
11:45 a.m. – Announcements
12:00 noon – No Batteries Required
12:45 p.m. – Beard & Mustache Contest
1:00 p.m. – Old Time Fiddlers
1:45 p.m. – Vintage Hat Contest
2:00 p.m. – The Marmalades
2:30 p.m. – Sing Along & Community Photo
3:00 p.m. – Sequim City Band

At the Albert Haller Playfields:
11:00 a.m. – Balloon Toss
11:25 a.m. – 3-legged Race
11:50 a.m. – Potato Sack Race
12:15 p.m. – Relay Race
12:40 p.m. – Drag Races
1:05 p.m. – Watermelon Roll
1:30 p.m. – Egg & Spoon Race

On-going Activities throughout the Day:
• Horse Shoes
• Badminton
• Softball
• Croquet
• Animal Olympics
• Checkers & Dominoes
• Fishing
• Hay Find

July 5- Street Dance of the Century
Sequim Avenue in Downtown Sequim

5:00 p.m. – First Friday Art Walk Begins
5:30 p.m. – Community Photo in the Sequim Avenue and Washington Street Intersection
6:00 p.m. – Welcome from City of Sequim Mayor Ken Hays
The Guy Johnson Band Performs
7:00 p.m. – Judging of Best 60’s & 70’s Costume
Magic Bus Performs

Throughout the Evening:
Food available by local food vendors, beer and wine garden open, paint a tile for the Centennial tile painting project (cost is $10 per tile).
