[ARCHIVED] Eagle Scout Candidate Donates Picnic Tables for Pioneer Park

Eagle Scout candidate Will Hays has built and donated three picnic tables to the City of Sequim for use at Pioneer Park as part of earning his Eagle Scout rank. Hays raised approximately $1,300 for the project and completed the tables with help from his scout troop, friends, and family. The tables are made of a galvanized steel base with stained wood tops and benches.

Hays said with the exception of paperwork, the picnic tables are the final step in earning his Eagle Scout rank. The requirements of earning and Eagle Scout rank include:
• progressing through the scout ranks
• earning at least 21 merit badges
• serving six months in a troop leadership position
• plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project for any religious organization or any school or community
• take part in a Scout master conference
• successfully complete an Eagle Scout board of review
