[ARCHIVED] The City of Sequim is Hosting a Member of the Professional Fellows Program


SEQUIM—The City of Sequim is hosting Seymur Aliyev, from Azerbaijan through May 26, 2016 as part of the Professional Fellows Program (PFP) and Young South East Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). The program is funded by the Department of State and administered by the American Councils for International Education. The goal of the program is to give promising young leaders from South East Asia an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in various aspects of the U.S. system and culture.

Aliyev is Head of Division of the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In his role, he is responsible for the recruitment, training, and professional development of civil servants. He prepares standardized policies on civil service management, drafts proposals for recruitment, and determines clear job descriptions and employee qualifications.

While in Sequim, Aliyev will work with City staff, meet with community leaders, and attend local events. He will stay with a series of host families in the community.
