[ARCHIVED] All Things Purple Art Exhibit at the Sequim Civic Center


SEQUIM—An art exhibit of “All Things Purple” will open in the lobby of the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar Street, on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., as part of the First Friday Art Walk.

The City Arts Advisory Commission reviewed 24 pieces of work from 12 artists before selecting 19 pieces to be included in the show. The exhibit will include works in watercolor, acrylics, mixed media, photography, and metal. The artists represented are Barb Boerigter, Sharon Delabarre, Karen Gates-Kilpatrick, Pat Gordon, Terri Jones, Judy Larimore, John McBride, Kimberly McBride, Betty Oppenheimer, Sandy Placek, Patty Waite, and George Zien.

The exhibit will be on display until September 30, 2016. Regular business hours for the Civic Center are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“Keying Around” Program Begins

Pianist Ken Young will play on the Civic Center Plaza from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., as a kick-off to the “Keying Around” program, that same evening. A special event will take place at 6:00 p.m. The “Keying Around” program has placed pianos at the Sequim Civic Center Plaza, Centennial Place, and at the corner of Sequim and Washington at the First Security Bank plaza for the public to use during the month of July.
