[ARCHIVED] City of Sequim Centennial Poster Artist to Show Work in Progress


Cindy Mangutz poster artist for the Sequim Centennial celebration will be displaying her work in progress and demonstrating her painting style on Friday, February 3 at Hurricane Coffee, 104 W. Washington Street, from 5:00 to 8:00p.m., and at the Museum and Art Center, 175 W. Cedar St., Saturday, February 11 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Mangutz was hired in September 2011 by the Sequim Centennial Committee to paint a historical picture of Sequim for the upcoming Sequim Centennial celebration. She is known throughout the Northwest for her primitive folk art style. The poster art will focus on historical sites and key landmarks in the City of Sequim and surrounding areas pre-World War II. The poster should be complete and available for purchase in May 2012.

The Sequim Centennial Celebration kicks off in October 2012 and will encompass an entire year of events culminating in the grand finale in November 2013, marking the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Sequim.
