[ARCHIVED] New Access Road to Open at Carrie Blake Park

The City of Sequim will open the new access road to Carrie Blake Community Park in the week beginning Monday, October 30, weather permitting. The existing entrance, located immediately north of the intersection of East Cedar Street and North Blake Avenue, will be closed to vehicular traffic but will remain open to pedestrian and bicycle users.

The new entrance is located to the south of the same intersection, just north of the Trinity United Methodist Church. The new access road will provide vehicular access to parking areas serving the Guy Cole Convention Center, the off-leash Dog Park, the baseball fields, playground areas, and skate park facilities. The new access road includes a new pedestrian path. Park visitors are encouraged to follow detour signage and traffic signs during this time of transition.

The work is part of the Carrie Blake Park improvement project started in August of this year. The Contractor is Northern Land Development from Kingston, WA.
