[ARCHIVED] Join the City of Sequim for the 2nd Annual Arbor Day Celebration

The City of Sequim will celebrate Arbor Day on Thursday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 East Washington Street, near the waterfall restoration project at the front of the park. Join the Mayor and City Staff as they plant trees and shrubs around the waterfall. The celebration recognizes Sequim’s designation as a “Tree City USA,” by the Arbor Day Foundation, and is held in the fall for the best planting conditions.

Waterfall Restoration Project
The waterfall restoration project is a partnership between the City of Sequim and the Sequim Prairie Garden Club. The waterfall was originally completed in 1965, but became inoperable in the 1990’s due to leaks and other malfunctions. The water was turned off and the pool was filled with cement. The newly restored waterfall is expected to be entirely completed in spring 2018. A ribbon cutting and celebration will be planned at that time to commemorate the waterfall.
