[ARCHIVED] The City of Sequim Seeks Applicants for Vacant City Council Position

The City of Sequim seeks applicants to fill a vacant seat on the City Council. To be considered applications are due to the City Clerk no later than 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018. The applicants will be interviewed by the City Council prior to the regular Council meeting on Monday, January 8, 2018 with a potential appointment and swearing in of the new council member at the meeting. The meeting will be held at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 West Cedar Street. The time of the meeting has yet to be confirmed.

The City Council term will expire on December 31, 2019. The salary for the position is $250 per month. Applicants must be registered voters of the City of Sequim, have a one-year continuous period of residence in the City of Sequim, and hold no other public office or employment under the city government.

The City Council position is vacant due to the passing of Council Member John Miller. By Washington State Law, the City Council is required to fill a vacant position within 90 days of the vacancy.
