The Kid’s Fishing Day scheduled for Saturday, May 19 has been cancelled. The Executive Board of the North Olympic Peninsula Chapter of Puget Sound Anglers (NOP PSA) made the decision on Monday, May 14 when they discovered that temperatures in the Water Reclamation Pond at Carrie Blake Park were unsafe for the trout. The Puget Sound Anglers sponsor the event and stock the pond for the occasion.
“We are disappointed after the enthusiasm we saw in the parade from the kids and their parents,” said Dave Croonquist from the Puget Sound Anglers.
The PSA is hoping to reschedule the event in the September or October after water in the pond cools down.
