Sequim Police Department

Original Press Release

August 13, 2019

On August 8, 2019 at approximately 2:30 AM a resident in the 500 block of W. Eunice Street was awaken by an unknown male in her bedroom. After an argument with the resident the male suspect left the house willingly.

The resident called 911 to report the intruder, Sequim Police Department Officers and Clallam County Patrol Deputies responded to the scene but were unable to locate the suspect in the vicinity.

After a subsequent investigation by the Sequim Police Department it was determined that the suspect had entered the residence through an open window.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20's, dark eyes, very dark blond or brown hair which was shaved on the sides and longer brushed back hair on the top. The suspect is approximately 5' 7" to 5'8" and 130-140 lbs., clean face with no facial hair. Last seen wearing a black sweater, jeans and black shoes.

This is currently an ongoing investigation and updates will be provided when a suspect is identified or arrested.

****UPDATE SEPTEMBER 10, 2019****

After a lengthy investigation by Sequim Police Detectives, which identified Timothy L. Gaskill as a suspect, a Superior Court arrest warrant was filed on August 30, 2019 for Gaskill’s arrest for the crimes of Burglary, Misdemeanor Assault, and Attempted Rape.

Gaskill had previously been identified in a photo lineup by the victim and during an interview with Gaskill on August 29, 2019 he was wearing shoes that matched shoeprints found at the crime scene. In a strange twist during the investigation it was also discovered that Gaskill had previously lived at the victim’s address as a tenant years prior to the victim. It is not believed that Gaskill knew the victim or their family.

On September 8, 2019 Timothy Gaskill was arrested by police in Port Angeles. Subsequently, Gaskill was booked in to the Clallam County Correctional Facility and is being held on $250,000.00 bail.

Sequim Police Department detectives will continue to investigate as forensic evidence is still being processed at the state crime lab and in the Sequim Police Department Digital Forensic Lab.
