[ARCHIVED] The City of Sequim Welcomes Veteran Local Government Management Fellow

Tyler Wiles

The City of Sequim welcomes Veteran Local Government Management Fellow (VLGMF) Tyler Wiles.  The VLGMF fellowship program is offered through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) which has contracted with the United States Department of Defense to offer transitioning service members the opportunity to learn about local government and gain experience as a part of the Skill Bridge Program.

Wiles has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and has served in the United States Navy since 2016.  He began his fellowship on January 6 and will conclude on April 24.  During his 16 weeks with the City he will assist staff in emergency management operations, the parks master plan update, event planning and operations, and the development of the City 101 Citizen Academy program.

The City of Sequim is the first government organization in the State of Washington to participate in the VLGMF program through ICMA and Wiles is one of the first fellows to participate in the program from the Navy branch of the military.
