The Sequim Sunshine Festival to be held on March 6 and 7, will feature a choreographed illuminated drone show on Saturday, March 7 at 6:45 p.m. at Carrie Blake Park.
The City of Sequim has contracted with Firefly Drone Shows from Waterford, Michigan to provide a 100 drone, 15-minute presentation.
The show will launch from the Blake Tile and Stone property to the south of the park. A clearly marked safety zone around the launch area, as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be established prior to the event. The City asks for the public’s cooperation in staying clear of the area.
The show will take place at an approximately 400 feet elevation and is best viewed from a distance. Viewers are encouraged to watch from Carrie Blake Park or from the hills to the south of the park. There will be a pre-party beginning at 5:00 p.m. by the Carrie Blake Park picnic shelter with music from “Just in Tyme,” a special light exhibit, a wine garden provided by Wind Rose Cellars, a food truck, and games.
