CALL FOR ART:  LET'S EXPLORE COLOR!

The City of Sequim Arts Advisory Commission invites you to submit your artwork to our upcoming juried exhibition to be displayed in the Karen Kuznek-Reese Gallery at Sequim Civic Center during the Winter months, from January through March, 2023.

Definition of Color:
: a phenomenon of light (such as red, brown, pink, or gray) or visual perception that enables one to differentiate otherwise identical objects.

: the aspect of the appearance of objects and light sources that may be described in terms of hue, lightness, and saturation for objects and hue, brightness, and saturation for light sources.

also : a specific combination of hue, saturation, and lightness or brightness.

: a color other than and as contrasted with black, white, or gray.

Criteria for Non-acceptance of Art Work:

  • Artwork is not presented "ready to hang".
  • Gallery space contraints; we may reject artwork based on capacity limits in our gallery, as we strive to curate a broad array of mediums in our exhibitions.
  • Faults of design or workmanship pose a public health or life safety hazard or diminish the value of the work.
  • The artwork is fraudulent, inauthentic and/or appears to be of inferior quality relative to the quality of other works in the art collection.
  • The artwork is not the original.  Please do not submit Giclee prints or photocopies of artworks.
  •  Inappropriate and incompatible artwork is defined as political art, sexually suggestive art, religious art, violent art, nudity, and derogatory art against race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or other person or class of people protected under RCW 49.60.030.
Deadline for submissions is Wednesday, November 16th at 4pm. All entries will be juried by Sequim's City Arts Advisory Commission by Monday, November 21st, 2022. Artists will be notified of their status by Thursday, November 28th, 2022. Artwork delivery will be scheduled December 5th-10th and you will be contacted to schedule delivery of your work.
