City Government
City Government Divisions
The City of Sequim was incorporated in 1913. In 1995 the city residents voted to adopt the council-manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of elected officials who serve as the governing body. The city manager is appointed by the City Council and is responsible for directing staff in the accomplishment of the City Council goals and the efficient and effective operation of city government.
Administrative Services
The Administrative Services Department is responsible for managing the city’s financial and information technology operations.

City Clerk
The City Clerk is responsible for the management of the city’s official records, public disclosure, City Council support, legal noticing, electronic records access, recording of legal documents, and special projects including the volunteer program.

The City Manager is the chief executive for the city and is responsible for all city staff.
Communications & Marketing
The Communications & Marketing Department helps to facilitate two-way communications between the City and Sequim residents and manages the tourism marketing program that is funded by lodging tax.
Community Development
The Department of Community Development provides a broad range of services to the community including comprehensive planning, development services, code compliance and education, and information.
Human Resources
The Human Resources Department provides support to city employees and the community through employee recruitment and selection and the administration of personnel and human resources policies.
Legal Department
The Legal Department provides legal advice to city officials and staff and represents them in civil court and administrative proceedings.
Police
Utilizing a combination of paid professional staff and volunteers, the Police Department provides the community with a host of services in security and safety.
Public Works
The Public Works Department provides vital city services including drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, street maintenance, bike lanes and trails, landscaping, parks construction and maintenance, solid waste management, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, design and construction engineering services, traffic engineering, and city mapping.
